Foreing publishers, festival directors and programme managers, literary agents and scouts – visiting Macedonia

“Skopje Fellowship” programme is dedicated to foreign publishers, festival directors and programme managers, literary agents and scouts. Macedonia is among the first countries in the region to establish a programme dedicated to such a profile of guests, and continues with the same intensity.

The objective of the Fellowship Programme is to familiarize the stakeholders of the prominent festivals and the world of publishers with the Macedonian literary scene, which, we hope, would result in new translations, visits of Macedonian writers abroad, promotion of the Macedonian and Balkan literature, networking of writers and cultural workers in the area of publishing and literature with their European and worldwide colleagues, increasing the interest for the Macedonian literature abroad…

John O’Brien

John O’Brien is the founder and publisher of Dalkey Archive Press and is also currently on the faculty of the University of Houston-Victoria. He has published over 100 scholarly articles,
as well as dozens of book reviews and articles in such magazines and newspapers as Harper’s, Village Voice, The Washington Post, and the Chicago Sun-Times. O’Brien has received the Lifetime Achievement Award from the National Book Critics Circle, the Carey-Thomas Publishers Weekly Publisher of the Year Award, the Distinguished Service Award by the Literature Translation Institute of Korea, and the Chevalier de l’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres de la République Française.

Jörg Sundermeier - Verbrecher Verlag [ Germany ]

Jörg Sundermeier was born 1970 in Gütersloh and lives in Berlin. He is author and co-founder of the publishing house Verbrecher Verlag. He is also member of the board of Kurt Wolff Stiftung which is a foundation for independent
publishing in germany

Florian Grundei - Wallstein Publishing [Germany]

Florian Grundei, born 1986, bookseller, studied german literature at University of Leipzig and University of Hagen, since 2013 project manager at Wallstein Publishing, Göttingen.

Kristine Listau - Antas Bindermann Listau, literary
agency [ Germany ]

Kristine Listau organised and managed the festivals Open Books and LiteraTurm at the culture department of the City Frankfurt am Main for six years. Afterwards she was head of event section at the Stadtmuseum Berlin. Since 2014 she is
chief executive of the Verbrecher Verlag. Besides the work at the publishing house she founded with Maria Antas and Susan Bindermann the literary agency Antas Bindermann Listau in Berlin last year.

Rainer Höltschl - Опен хаус издавачка куќа

Rainer Höltschl, PhD, studied literature and history in Vienna and Freiburg i. Br., worked as translator, editor (media theory, Marshall McLuhan), journalist, writer (literature and music, Jimi Hendrix) and publisher. Founded »Open House Verlag«
in Leipzig in 2011: German and international fiction and non-fiction books.

Sewastos Sampsounis - Größenwahn Verlag [ Germany ]

Born in 1966 in a greek guest worker family. He travelled as
so called “suitcase child” between Germany and Greece.
Today he lives in Frankfurt, he’s owner of the publisher “Größenwahn Verlag”, coowner of the “Café-Größenwahn”, illustrator and author. The “Größ- enwahn Verlag” is a young creative and independent publisher with subcultural orientation in the field of fiction, non-fiction and advisor books. A matter
of particular interest are translations out the southeast-european language area like in the book row “Via Egnatia”.
